    A Delegation of World Bank and PWA Visit Hebron Municipality


    The Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, received a delegation of the World Bank , and of Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) that chaired by Mr. Bjorn Philip,  Manager of Sustainable Development Programme at World Bank, and Mr. Nael Ahmad, Manager of Hebron Project at PWA. The meeting was in the attendance of municipal councilors and municipal staff.

    Putting lights on the water crisis and the ed quantities of water allocated to the city of Hebron was the main issue discussed in the meeting. The two sides also made a discussion about the work progress of the Wastewater Treatment Plant project (WWTP), and about the opportunity of making a Master Plan of Water and Sanitation for Hebron Governorate.  Mr. Abu Sneineh then expressed his support  to WWTP, and his readiness to communicate with all Mayors of the Governorate to move beyond Master Plan for water and sanitation.

    On his part, Mr. Philip appreciated the role of Hebron Mayor, Municipal Council and municipal staff for the outstanding performance in achieving projects. He added that the World Bank seeks to serve the city of Hebron through providing vital projects that aim at enhancing the living condition of the citizens,   as the city is considered as the largest  city in Palestine in terms of area and population.
