Mayor of Hebron Calls World's Municipalities and International Communities to Refuse the Decision of Establish Settlers' Affairs Council in Hebron

In the Third German Palestinian Municipal Partnership Conference that held in Jericho,  the Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh called World's Municipalities and International Communities to refuse the Israeli illegal decision to establish what is calling "a Hebron's settlers' affairs council" in the heart of Hebron city.

Mayor Abu Sneineh pointed out that this Israeli illegal military order  is a grave violation of Hebron Protocol signed in 1997 that states clearly that "the city of Hebron is united under the municipality responsibility", and said that this order is the most serious since 1967, due to changes that would occur on the geography and structure of the city, and to increasing of violent practices by the Israeli forces against the innocent civilians who live in the target areas.

Moreover, Mr. Abu Snieneh added that the military order is considered as a breach of all international treaties and laws,  as it gives the illegal settlers the right to settle in Hebron city. He then appreciated the German Government's position for not recognizing settlement and not giving it legitimacy, calling the German Municipalities and all he municipalities around the world to support Hebron Municipality with a view to annul this inhuman decision.
