Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneneih, received in his office the deputy mayor of the municipality of Barcelona "Jim Labendra" and deputy mayor of the municipality of Valencia "Santana", in the presence of members of the municipal council.  During the meeting, ways to strengthen joint cooperation between Hebron Municipality and the cities of Barcelona and Valencia in the field of infrastructure were discussed and the possibility of establishing bilateral partnerships between the three cities was considered.

Abu Snenieh said that partnership and twinning agreements contribute to the exchange of experiences between cities, especially the ancient European cities which have a long experience in providing municipal services at the highest levels, noting that it is important for the city of Hebron to sign twinning agreements with the cities of Barcelona and Valencia as a first twinning experience with Spanish cities, ensuring that Hebron municipality is making all the needed efforts to promote its international relations that would lift the name and position of Hebron high and affirm that Hebron is an Arab city in order to gain the necessary political and financial support for the development of the city.

From his part, Mr. Labendra expressed the willingness of the municipality of Barcelona to sign a memorandum of understanding and a twinning agreement between the city of Hebron and the city of Barcelona to serve the common interests of the two cities, after discussing this issue with Barcelona city council.
