    Mayor of Hebron Meets Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan


    Amman: the Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, met with the Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan, where he briefed him about the  situation of Hebron, and discussed about the opportunity of promoting mutual cooperation between Hebron and  Republic of Indonesia. The Mayor was accompanied by municipal councilors and other municipal staff.

    Mr. Abu Sneineh underlined the deep Indonesian and Palestinian ties, then, he spoke about the recent Israeli military illegal order to establish what is calling "a Hebron's settlers' affairs council" in the heart of Hebron city ,and described it as a grave violation of Hebron Protocol signed in 1997. He also referred to the ruling that puts Hebron on UNESCO's World Heritage list,  which is considered as an affirmation on the cultural Heritage of the City.

    Moreover, Mr. Abu Sneineh called to share experiences between Hebron and cities of Indonesia in different fields, and expressed his hope to establish the Indonesia-Palestine Center in the City of Hebron.           

    On the other part, the Indonesian Ambassador assured his country's  support to the Palestinian cause, and referred to Indonesian role in voting towards admitting Palestine as a full member in the Interpol. Thereafter, he said that the Indonesian Embassy will organize the Indonesian cultural day in Palestine, Which marks the anniversary of the National Day, and underlined that his government exerts diplomatic efforts to ensure that the Palestinian people received all their rights.
