The Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, called the Freedom-loving people and anybody with a conscious to support the Palestinian right in inscribing the Hebron's Old Town on the UNESCO's World Heritage List as it is rich in human and cultural heritage.

Mr. Abu sneineh said that he put his trust in all countries that have the right to vote on this nomination which will take place on Friday, 07 July in Poland. This ballot will proceed away of any political interest, and won't surrender to Israeli Occupation pressure that aims at preventing the execution of  this decision.

Hebron Municipality promoted a media campaign since 2009 in partnership with the municipalities Arcueil and Belfort, and addressed many formal letters to different municipalities and international organizations with a view to support the Old Town’s nomination for inscription on UNESCO's World Heritage List as an attempt to put lights on the situation of the Old City and to safeguard its cultural heritage.

It is worth mentioning that the municipality prepared the nomination document under the supervision of international experts, and in cooperation with different local bodies such as Hebron Rehabilitation Committee, then , it was delivered to Palestinian  Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to proceed the inscription of Hebron's Old Town on the World Heritage List.
