A delegation of the World Bank and AFD chaired by Dr. Iyad Rammal and Mr. Hani Ballouta visited Hebron Municipality and met with the Mayor Eng. Nader Bitar. The meeting was also attended by Eng. Marwan Akhdar, the Head of Sanitation Department, and Mr. Allam Ashhab, the Director of Strategic Planning Department.

This meeting aimed at putting lights on the  progress of the Waste Water Treatment Plant project (WWTP). This project was put out to tender, with a completion expected in the course of May,2017.

During the meeting, the attendances touched on the ed quantities of water allocated to the city  that causing severe water shortages particularly in summer time, and discussed the opportunity of improving the collection of water bills. Then they referred to the management of industrial waste with a view to safeguard the environment.

On his side, Eng. Bitar underlined the importance of the WWTP on economic development, and said that the Municipality goes in line with PWA strategy to support the Water and Sanitation Sector.
