    Abu Sneineh Meets with Representative of Singapore to PA


    Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, met with the Representative of Singapore to the Palestinian Authority, Mr. Hawazi DAIPI, and briefed him about the political and economic conditions of Hebron City, which are affected by the continuous Israeli Occupation, and the settlers presence in the heart of the city. this meeting was also attended by Eng. Yousef Jabari, Deputy Mayor of Hebron, and Ms. Sahar Qawasmi, Municipal Councilor.

    Mr. Abu Sneineh spoke about the daily Palestinian suffering due to Israeli occupation and settler practices as well as attempts to displace the local population and to increase settlement activity. He also touched on violations against Old City inhabitants, illegal Israeli barriers and the continuous closing down of main streets in the city  which go against all international treaties and laws that call for the freedom of movement and worship. Mayor Abu Sneineh stressed on his refusal to the Occupation's illegal decision to establish a Hebron's settlers' affairs council, which is considered as a grave violation of the international laws and the Hebron Protocol signed in 1997 between the Palestinian and the Israeli Parties.    

    On the other part, Mr. DAIPI expressed happiness for his first visit to Hebron, and expressed willingness to cooperate with Hebron Municipality in implementing different projects that include workshops and training programs to improve employees' capabilities, adding  that the Singapore Govenrment is always supporting the vocational education sector in Palestine.
