In His visit to Paris Mayor Khaled Osaily  announced the establishment of  “International Committee for the Protection the Hebron  old City as humanitarian Cultural Heritage” that will work on listing Hebron old city on the UNESCO list of protected sites of cultural heritage.
The Creation of this international committee came as a result of a meeting that was held in Palestine Embassy in Paris in the presence the Ambassador Dr. Hind Khoury, Mr. Elias Sonbor Palestine representative in the UNESCO, Mr. Khaled Kawasmi the D.G of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee and Both the Mayor of Belfort city and Arkoy cities in France.
Mr. Osaily added that the main duties of this committee will be preparation of the needed file that will presented to the UNESCO and call up of international support for this initiative.
This initiative will be announced in Paris during coming June or Sept. 2009 in the presence of the invited international prominent figures and organization  supporting the initiative.
Mayor Osaily is adopting this initiative and work hard to create the needed international momentum for listing Hebron old city on the UNESCO list and had presented this initiative in several international forums in Venice , Italy and Istanbul, Turkey.
