    Mayor of Hebron Briefs Turkish Parliament's Delegation About Hebron's Situation


    Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, received a Turkish Parliament's delegation that consists of 22 Parliament members and the Turkish Ambassador to Palestine. Also, The delegation was  chaired by Mr. Hasan Turan, the Chairperson of the Turkey-Palestine Interparliamentary Friendship Group.          

    After welcoming the delegation, Mr. Abu Sneineh briefed them about the situation of Hebron, and daily Palestinian suffering due to Israeli occupation and settler practices. He stressed on  the importance role played by the Turkish Government and people in supporting the Palestinian Cause. He then said that he is proud of the deep ties between the two countries, and referred to the twinning and cooperation agreements between Hebron Municipalities and many of Turkish municipalities.

    On the other part, Mr. Turan underlined the need for a fair and just peace and the creation of a fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital.

    The visiting delegation then toured the Old city and visited Al Ibrahimi Mosque. Also, they met with Mr. Imad Hamdan, the Director of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee where he gave a detailed explanation about the suffering of the citizens in the Old City and in areas adjacent to settlements.
