The Old City of Hebron has maintained its overall Mamluk structure and main features of the urban style throughout the Ottoman period (1517 – 1917). Despite exposure to many wars and attacks, it has gained only some Ottoman styled neighborhoods and buildings.
The Old City includes thirteen neighborhoods:
