    Abu Sneineh Receives Firefighting Mission of Hebron Municipality after Taking part in BA in Scotland


    Eight  firefighters of Hebron Municipality, who were accompanied by the head of the Public Relation, Mr. Bilal Muhtaseb, took part in advanced courses of Breathing Apparatus (BA) in Scotland, for  a period of three weeks.

    After receiving the mission, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, Mayor of Hebron, underlined the necessity of enhancing the capabilities and skills of the firefighters, and of providing them experiences in the latest firefighting technique, with a view to save the people lives, and to deal with fire safety. He also thanked the Fire Brigades Union (FBU), and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services (SFRS) for their cooperation, facilitating training projects, and delivering of kit and equipment to the municipality of Hebron.   

    Mr. Muhtaseb underlined that the eight  participants got the training at one of the world's largest training institute for fire services in Glasgow, Scotland, and they had acquired many important skills concerning the firefighting. He also added that the trainees visited the British and the Scottish Parliament, and met with Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as the Ministers of Agriculture and Transportation, in addition to  others civil society institutions, and Labour Unions in solidarity with the Palestinian people, where the Palestinian trainees briefed them about the City of Hebron, its history, religious significant, and its  political situation, and called the people of Scottish to support Hebron City and its Old City.

    On behalf of the trainees , Mr. Majed Olama Al Hussaini extends his appreciation to the Mayor of Hebron and the Municipal council for providing them the opportunity to obtain the commendable training in field of firefighting, which contributed to raise the level of competence, skill and ability to deal with all types of fire risks.
