    Hebron Municipality Signs a Twinning Agreement with Yiwu Municipality


     Hebron Municipality took part in the World E-Governments Conference (WEGO) which was held in the city of Chengdu for three consecutive days. More than 30 municipalities that representative 20 Countries in the world attended the conference and Hebron Municipality has been re-elected as the vice president of the conference in the course of the coming three years.  

    The WEGO conference is considered as an International Forum that contributed to the promotion of friendly ties between municipalities, and to sharing of experiences as well as to building cooperation in the fields of IT and of E-Governance. 
     
    The Municipality of Hebron participated in the field of E-Governments and discussed the progressing in the IT field despite the Israel's control over the communication sources.
     
    The Municipality delegation which comprised of Dr. Daoud Zatari, the Mayor of Hebron, Jawdi Abu Sneineh, the Deputy Mayor, and of Eng. Jumana Dweik, IT Engineer, stressed that the conference give them the opportunity to raise the issue of the political condition of Hebron City, the citizens' suffering as a result of the Israeli Occupation's inhumane practices, as well as the Israeli Authority's attempts to displace the local population and to increase settlement activity. 
     
    The Mayor of Hebron further added "we could build close ties and future cooperation with many cities of the World and the re-election of Hebron Municipality as the vice-president of the WEGO will serve Hebron and its citizens, and that was as a support to the Palestinians just cause and people ".
     
    The opportunity of funding many vital projects in the city such the project of Hebron Entrance Tunnel, was discussed on the sidelines of the conference, with Chinese official figures.
     
    On the other hand, Dr. Zatari then signed a twinning agreement with the Municipality of YIWU with a view to fostering cooperation in the context of developing the Education, Commerce, Industry and engineering Sectors.
