Hebron Municipality and Tika Agree to Promote Mutual Cooperation

Turkey -Ankara, Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh,  and his accompanied delegation met with Mr. Ali Radwan the Deputy President of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) where Mr. Abu Sneineh briefed him about Hebron City's Situation, and discussed the opportunity of supporting vital projects in Hebron.

Mayor Abu Sneineh underlined that Hebron Municipal Council seeks to implement development projects in the city. He also referred to the implication of the recent Israeli military illegal order to establish a " Hebron's settlers' affairs council" in the heart of Hebron city, which is considered as an attempt to expropriate vast tracts of Hebron for the benefit of settlement and settlers, and applying such decision will hinder and obstruct the council mission to provide services in the whole of the city, he added. He also assured that Hebron Municipality is looking forward to strengthening ties with TIKA in different aspects of cooperation.

Mr. Radwan highlighted that the development assistance provided by TIKA to Palestine over the last decade constitutes 30 percent of its total assistance to the Middle East and Africa region. He also praised the great role played by Hebron Municipality in preserving the Arab and Islamic identity and refuting the fabrications of the Israeli occupation that aimed at judaizing the southern area of the city.
