    The Mayor Calls Representative of Slovenia to Sign Twinning Agreements between Hebron and Slovenian Cities


    The Mayor of Hebron, Mr. Tayseer Abu Sneineh, discussed with the Representative of Republic of Slovenia in Palestine, Mr. Milko Dolinsek , the opportunities of strengthening mutual ties, and signing twinning agreements, in order to share experiences between the two sides in different fields, such as, infrastructure, education, health, agriculture and business sector.

    At the beginning  of the meeting, Mayor Abu Sneineh spoke about Hebron, it's geography and history. He referred to the importance of Inscribing Hebron's Old City and Ibrahimi Mosque on the UNESCO's World Heritage List in reflecting the human and cultural heritage that dates back to thousands years BC. He also added that Hebron's Old City is recently considered as a World Craft City and this title is very important for  old city, which suffers from Israeli daily violations and settlement construction, that obstruct the implementation of vital projects there,  and therefore , reduce the quality of life for the dwellers.

    Moreover, Mr. Abu Sneineh called the visiting delegation to promote Hebron City as a World Tourist City.

    On the other part, Mr. Dolinsek highlighted Slovenian support to Palestinian cause,  and expressed his readiness to further cooperation and enhance ties with Hebron Municipality. He also touched on humanitarian aid provided by the Republic of Slovenia for the treatment of children and people with special needs.

    The delegation then toured the Old City and visited Al Ibrahimi Mosque.
